How To Obtain A Schengen Visa From India?

However, the residents of India have to undergo the crucial application procedure, because you never know when the visa officer demands any extra document.

So, if you want to visit the Schengen Area, you must apply for it at least 15 days before your trip and at most six months before. But it’s best to give yourself at least three weeks before your leaving date in case your application takes longer than expected to be processed.

From India, You’ll Need The Following To Apply For A Schengen Visa:

- Two passport photos. The photos must meet the requirements of Schengen. It must contain a blue/white background. And ensure the size of the photos is as per the requirements.
- A passport that is valid for less than 10 years and is suitable for at least three months after you leave the Schengen Area.
- A letter from your boss if you have a job. Also, known as the recommendation letter.
- A letter from your school or college saying they have no problems with you and proof of enrollment (if you are a student). It is also known as the NOC Letter.
- Proof of travel insurance that costs up to €50,000 only. The applicant has to provide a dummy document before the visa approval is guaranteed.
- Proof that you have a place to stay/accommodation.
- Proof of your legal position, such as a marriage certificate, a birth certificate for your children, a death certificate for your spouse, a ration card, etc.
- Proof of dummy ticket for Schengen visa. You must book a round trip itinerary so that the visa officer must know that you have made all the necessary arrangements to return back to your country, once the purpose is fulfilled.
- Proof of financial status.
